About Kirkhoff

Kirkhoff is a gallery for international contemporary art in Copenhagen, directed by Birgitte Kirkhoff. The gallery represents emerging, young artists who work with a large variety of media, e.g. painting, sculpture, video, performance and installation.

The represented artists Lucas Ajemian (USA), A Kassen (DK), Kristoffer Akselbo (DK), AVPD (DK), Ulrik Heltoft (DK), Ida Kvetny (DK), Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen (DK), Gitte Schäfer (D), Tove Storch (DK) and Elif Uras (TR) work with different approaches to art, some work more conceptually, others focus on perception and visual aspects of aesthetics.

The artists have exhibited widely in art institutions and galleries in USA, Asia and Europe. The gallery has participated in following fairs Art Forum Berlin (2004, 2007, 2008), Art Copenhagen (2004, 2006, 2008), Artissima (2004), Liste (2006, 2007, 2008), Nada (2006, 2007) and Artbrussels (2007).

Kirkhoff is located in the leading gallery district of Copenhagen. Kirkhoff first opened in February 2004 at Amagerfælledvej 42. In February 2006, the gallery moved and opened at Sturlasgade 12B.
